summary
Hidden in the middle of the desert, under the quicksand burning sands, rises the underground city of Atlantis, a vestige of a vanished civilization. In a marvelous palace stands the beautiful Antinea, surrounded by some faithful servants.
All the men who knew her were, it is said, victims of their passion. One day, two young and ardent officers, Captain Morhange and Lieutenant Saint-Avit, discover Atlantis under the guidance of a mysterious Targui.
The lieutenant immediately falls under the spell of Antinea, while Morhange resists a passion whose mistress he feels. Antinea excites the jealousy of Saint-Avit and drives him to kill his companion. The murder perpetrated, he managed to escape, thanks to the complicity of a following of the queen.
But the memory of the beautiful priestess obsesses him. One morning, he will return to the desert, in search of his cursed love ...
